STATEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM ON THE FAITH TOURISM PRESS CONFERENCE

THE Department of Tourism (DOT) apologizes to the public for the unintentional error made by the sector which organized the recently-held Faith Tourism Press Conference at the Marriott Hotel.

The press conference was aimed at securing support from various stakeholders for the promotion of faith tourism.

Officials of the Farm Tourism, Faith Tourism and Ecotourism sector, namely Assistant Secretary Eden David and Director Marissa Diploma, apologized to DOT Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo for the undue criticism received by the tourism chief and the department for the word “commitment” misspelled as “committment” on the tarpaulin used to gather signatures of representatives of supporting agencies.

Meanwhile, the Secretary gave instructions to the sector concerned to seek prior advice and assistance from the DOT’s Public Affairs, Communications and Special Projects sector for the conduct of press conferences and production of collaterals.
